my 2025 in writing

And what a year it has been!

Finished

  • Warmongers (novel)
  • Fell Runner (novella)
  • Monster Slayer (novella) (Aug 2026)

Right before The Sovereign and Fate’s Bane came out, I finished my next novel for Orbit, the standalone Warmongers.

screencap i took of warmongers the day i called the first draft ‘done’.

Then the publicity rounds for The Sovereign/Fate’s Bane wiped out all of October, plus a well deserved break with my partner in Toronto, so I didn’t get to working on the next thing until November.

That next thing was Fell Runner. No cover yet, and no other news. Like Warmongers, it has been turned in but with the end of the year and the holidays, edits won’t come until some time in the new year.

Fell Runner: First Draft Done!
long journey for a short book.

Finally, Monster Slayer, the novella that will come out in August 2026.

Currently Working On

Nothing. NOTHING.

Well, maybe one short story for an unannounced short story.

And that serial I wanted to play with.

Maybe some ideas for the next thing I want to sell to my publishers. Which may be a standalone or may be a trilogy.

But seriously! Nothing!

But also also, this blog and the essays and posts therein have also been a continual work and will remain that way for the foreseeable. I enjoy it and I enjoy the thoughts I’ve been able to pull together here.

So, that’s that for the round up. Thanks for being a part of it all!

Stay sharp. May the next year show you some kindness and more of what you need most.
